is this gaming rig compatible and is it worth buying ?

Hello Linus tech tips forum!

I want to buy/build myself a new gaming rig. I want to play current and future games at the highest under 4k steeings, so at least full HD or 1440x1080 and at stable FPS rate. My budget is somewhere between 1000 and 1.500 euros. I have all the parts picked out that I need and now I want to know if everything compatible with each other. ( pls no hate if i if I have selected the false parts or parts that are not worth their money, this was the first time that i accualy dealt with computer hardware ). And maybe you can give me suggestions which part would fit my need better. Also sorry if the stuff i´ve written above sounds ratarded.

ok here is my version of the Rig Case:

cooler master mastercase 5

Mainboard: asus z170 pro gaming

GPU: asus gtx 980 strix OC Edition

CPU: intel core i7 6700k

Power supply: 500 watt corsair cx series modular 80+ bronze

OS: Windows 10

Would be realy nice if you could help me so I don´t buy stuff that doesn´t work in the end.

( and please excuse my bad english )

Either buy a 970 or 980 ti. Not a 980.

It's the 980STRIX OC, which is probably better than a regular 980. But still, a 980Ti would probably give you more bang for your buck.

PC Specs

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING x570-PLUS (Wi-Fi) ATX AM4

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3600 CL18

Graphics: ASUS GTX 1080

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

PSU: Corsair RM750 (2019)

Displays: ASUS VS247 & ASUS VH169

Get an evga supernova g2 600 not that PSU, and a 980 ti. Also, I would get the h100i gtx to cool your cpu.

Strix or no Strix, 980 is not worth the money compared to its comparable cards.

You can use PCPartPicker.com to select parts, it makes  sure everything will work together

Also, don't use a CX series PSU. They're poor quality and have a very low max temp.

I got a 970STRIX OC and it has the same specs as my friends 980... It's not the STRIX that makes it better, it's the OC part. However, it's not the exact same in real-world performance, so I'd still go for the extra boost to the Ti.

Instead of the 980 i would get a 980ti for high resolution gaming.

Also please don't get that power supply, get a Seasonic X series or EVGA G2 power supply.

It's easy to OC on your own after you purchase the card. No reason to go out of your way spending an extra $50 for an OC edition. Also the specs between the 970 and 980 are not the same.

No. strix isn't really all that great. I only have mine because I bought it well before the Titan X or the 980Ti were released.

Nonono, the OC doesn't mean it's OCed, it means it's got more power in general. The 970 usually has 2GB VRAM, for example, but my card has 4. Mine's running at 1420MHz Boost clock and 8GHz Memory clock, after OCing for myself after what ASUS did.

Not trying to be rude here, but you really need to read up on your graphic cards my friend.
