what happens when you put a clean platter from an hdd in a dvd reader?

i thought of a funny thing: putting an hdd platter in a dvd/cd reader. do you know what woud happen or what do you think what will happen? post it down below!

Absolutely nothing as a HDD platter stores data magnetically and DVDs store it optically

Nothing. Optical disks are read using light, and hard drives are read with a needle. They store info in different ways and they are different sizes.

The laser reflects anyway. That's how the data is read.

I don't think it's a needle. They're defined as "heads" and work through magnetism.

Yup. Was thinking of heads but it didn't really explain it well.

Nothing would happen. Platters store things through positive and negative polarities on the surface, while optical discs have grooves burned into the data surface.

and the head woud move desperetly trying to read the cd which woud be funny to watch

A typical optical disc wouldn't even fit inside a typical hard drive anyways.
