upgrading grom i7 2600 non-k

Hi everybody atm I have an i7 2600 non-k with 16 GB of RAM I want to upgrade and pass my actual build for my father, but I'm not sure if going with the 4790k or with the Skylake, I like flashy motherboards atm I have the Asus Sabertooth Z77 which looks very nice for me, I feel like the MSI Krait edition is some kind of 'downgrade' we talk about looks only comparing with my actual motherboard, I know it's stupid but hey :c I'm like that

The good thing about the 4790k build is that I could get the Kingston HyperX Fury White Ram, to match the black and white theme, the 6700k motherboard looks nicer to me but I would have to go with the black ram, since dominator platinums from corsair are very very expensive in DDR4

I know performance from 4790k to 6700k is barely 5% but since I'm upgrading from a 2600 I would like to know what you guys suggest? 4790k DDR3? or 6700k DDR4 I really want the white ram tho :(

I use this PC for Gaming and Working in Photoshop only

OP says he has to buy the white DDR3 so that wont work

the Skylake system will be a better choice since you need to buy RAM anyway, but it will cost like 100$ more, but untill the 4790k starts lagging behind you probably wont use the CPU anymore
