got the bridge today... it still does not work. tried both set of fingers and i even tried switching the bridge around(up side down?)... don't know what else to do..
i'll try and reinstal nvidia drivers. but i doubt it'll help.

ok well... i ended up reinstalling drivers, booted up and i got the notification that my rig is sli capable.. well okay!
but i have the bridge on 2nd set of fingers and upside down.. i am afraid to remove it and put it on the 1st set..
does it in any way hinder the performance if it's there? otherwise ima just leave that son of a bitch there :D

Hello guys, i am having a problem. Is there a way that those 2 cards cannot be together in sli? i have tried basicly everything except switching sli bridge which is comming in mail in next few days.

my mobo is sli capable (gigabyte p55a-ud4) cpu is i5 760...

my cards get detected in nvidia control panel, i have sli options, but they are greyed out... im going nuts.

It should work, it will run on the lower clocked speed though.

SLI will work with cards that are manufactured by the same company (i.e. Nvidia and AMD) and they must have the same amount of video memory. So you could have an EVGA 580 with a MSI 580 because of the same company, Nvidia, and the same V ram

Intel i7-4790 | Gigabyte z97x G7 | MSI 980TI | G.Skill Ripjaw Sniper 32GB 2400Mhz | Segate 2TB SSHD/Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD | Phanteks Enthoo Pro

if you have rev 1 of the mobo you need atleast F6 bios (get f15):

"Improve PCIe x8 slot compatibility"

Erm, have you heard the 480? Was about twice the noise of the 290X. You really missed out on the glory days of Thermi
