We've all been there. WTF do I need for my first gaming rig? Well I'm hear to tell you that at least 100 people ask the same question every day on this forum. They all are asking the same question: "is my build OK?" or "what can I do to improve the performance." Your CPU is fine at an i5, 6600(k) or basically any other, 8gb of ram is fine, and if you REALLY want that extra 4% of performance, swap out your 970 for a 390. Both will be fine. Your powersupply is fine at 600W. Just get an EVGA one so it doesn't explode some day because you got a shit quality one.

Your build is FINE, don't believe me? Type "first build" into the little search bar up there and be amazed at all the noobs just like you finding out that they're over reacting.

Okay, rant over. Carry on.

yeah... you could easily make a pinned topic with pcs that are good for a specific price and use case.

and we would have a lot less of these topics

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Except there are a billion different circumstances, so these can't always be true.

Maybe you need 8 or more threads? Maybe you don't have the budget for a 6600? Maybe you will actually use more than 8GB RAM? Maybe you will play on 1440p or 4K and the R9 390 will oblitirate the 970? Maybe you will go for crossfire or SLI and need more than 600W? Maybe there are more good PSU brands than EVGA alone? (spoilers: there are)

Well , there are always different use cases ( if you need CUDA or shadowplay , or if you need more cpu power etc ) Not to mention bias that might be an issue

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

My point is that there are enough of these posts in one day to answer just about all the questions. The search bar is a very powerful tool that isn't used enough.

If someone knows they're using software that utilizes CUDA, I'm pretty sure they would know who supports CUDA.
