For the past three weeks my YouTube videos have been so slow as to not load, even when I repeatedly refresh the page. It's been going at it for almost three weeks and is progressively getting worse, more than half of the videos I click on don't load at all. I am even using Google's Public DNS Servers, and everything else is working just wonderfully. All except YouTube. What gives? YouTube is the website I spend the most time on and I'd like for it to work right.

Have you gone to a different hotspot? Are you on a wired or wireless connection? Have you tried without using Google Public DNS servers?

It was just the same without, except Gmail and Google Images would freeze. They still do but much less often.

I am wired all the way to my router, 22Mbps down, AT&T U-Verse.

You know I wasn't sure at first but I think I might be in the same boat.  I can't watch anything over 1080p, and I even had a 1080p video stop to buffer a few times the other day which is fairly unusual... I just assumed it was shaw's fault as always but maybe Google's having issues?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I think so, since you and one other guy are having the same problem. I hope they fix it, it's super annoying.

Hm, two  three of us from Canada and you in the US having issues, but nothing in Australia apparently... could legitimately be some of their servers having problems if it's region specific

Just make sure the issue in also on another device, if the problem is the same on another network connection (starbucks or something) then it may be a problem with you network.

I can try, seems to work fine on LTE on my phone but that's kind of different.

Just out of curiosity, try Psiphon, a free VPN for android (if the issue is also on mobile)

See what happens

Don't have any Android devices. Pretty sad I know, my Windows Phone and then everyone else has an iPhone.

If my theory is right, your speeds will be worse than normal as well.  Noticed anything odd lately?

I wanted to see if the ISP was throttling youtube for some reason. I watch youtube and listen to pandora at school through this VPN, an impressive 30+mbit/s up/down at school over wifi.

I have 50 down, 12 up and varying low ping below 20ms. At school we get 100 down/up and 3ms ping. Both have had trouble streaming 1080p video and since both have OK GPUs and my CPU is an i3 and has problems (school uses i7s). Think it's a Youtube server issue.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Using a VPN doesn't change your ISP's throttling or anything, you still use them to access the Internet.
