Slim Gaming Laptop (Casual)

I am currently checking out for a new laptop. I've recently sold my Macbook Pro Retina 13, which doesn't correspond to my needs anymore.

I'm looking for a casual gaming laptop the rest is for programming.

Going off the Product Design 2016 Suite recommended specs I would need at least:

  • Core i7 - i5 (preferably i7)
  • 8+ GB of RAM
  • 250+ GB SSD
  • GT 950M, GTX 960M (Enough for my gaming needs)
  • Light 5 Pounds of less
  • 1080P or more With a great quality screen (Touch not required.. I hate touch)
  • 13.3" to 15"
  • Budget 2500$ Max (CAD Rupies...) that's like 1900-2000 USD
  • If possible NO Optical Drive

Thank you :)!

Thanks for the products :D!

Is it too much to ask for something a bit more light? or thin?

I don't wanna feel the burden of carrying it every day.

Before my MacBook, I had a HP, 5.5 pounds. Reason I bough something lighter. I have lots of stuff to carry

:)

ikr

before buying the laptop that i have now i wasn't completely sure that 14" would be big enough but now comparing it to other 15.6" laptops it looks to be the perfect size. i wouldn't probably mind a 13.3" screen but nothing smaller

13.3 inch was my old laptop screen size...6 years of it...perfect size but 14 inch is probably better as it's just a tad bigger without being humongous

I love my xps 15 (i7 6700hq, 16gb ram, 960m, 1080p display). It is great for my engineering work and handles all the games I need it too.

I went with the XPS 15

MSI GS60 Uses a TN Panel, which for my it's too much a big sacrifice going from a macbook

Y700 : Too heavy and a okay screen.

Asus zenbook pro ux501vw, 1500 usd, i7 6700hq, gtx 960m, 4k screen, 16 gb ram, 512gb nvme ssd, premium "macbook pro 15" like build quality
only minuses, glossy touch screen and not great speakers

dont know if you can get it in north america, but there is a cheaper version with 8gb ram, 256 gb ssd(not nvme) and non-touch/mat screen for a couple of hundred $ less

edit: And it has a 96wh battery!!
