dude the Pentium Anniversary edition, even when its not overclocked, will beat out any AMD CPU in gaming. of course the i5 will win.

But the 4670 doesn't have hyperthreading? Are you talking about the 4670, the 4670K, the 4770 or the 4770K? Doesn't matter too much, though, the Intel gets my vote.

He listed the 8350 as having 16 threads. He means the Haswell OG i5

Also the FX-8350 doesn't have hyperthreading. It just 8 cores...

The G3258 is old news, it is not relevant anymore. The 860k beats it by a landslide, and the price is similar

If you are only gaming, the i5 and overclock it. If you are doing other things( Streaming etc) I would take the FX. But you could upgrade the i5 down the road, that is up to you

The answer depends on how the system will be used and available budget.

 

BTW the FX-8350 has 8 cores and 8 threads. Only some Intel cpu have hyperthreading. And the i5-4690 is NOT one of those. Current AMD cpu have no equivalent to hyperthreading.

They do. It's called Micro Core Clustering I think. That's what the FX use to make 8 cores from 4 actual cores.
