I just bought the Seasonic Platinum 1000W last week. If only they launched this a week earlier then I'd have gotten them instead.

Does anyone know if flat PSU cables can be sleeved? I'm not in the market for the PSU but I'm just curious.

This is probably the best priced 1000W psu on the market. Truly impressed with this.

Seems like a nice competitor to the Be Quiet! series.

I'd like to see more efficiency, above the 80+ Platinum ratings.

Corsair updated the price of these new psus...

Corsair posted an update on pricing of its new ultra-quiet RM-series line of fully-modular power supplies, post their announcement. The RM450W is priced at US $99.99 (not $89.99), RM550W at $109.99 (not $99.99), RM650W at $119.99, RM750W at $129.99, RM850W at $159.99 (not $149.99), and RM1000W at $199.99 (not $164.99). Corsair erred. Positioned strangely between its HX- and AXi-Series, the RM-Series is characterized by a focus on silence. The 135 mm fan cooling these units don't spin unless they absolutely have to.

I like that they have 450w & 550w units for this relatively high end line, finally acknowledging how much power a system really pulls, and not forcing the overkill wattage PSUs on you.

Between the HX and AXi (or AX) line-up?!

What?

High end to low end. AXi, AX, RM, HX.

Funny they didn't push this silence advertising with the AX line. Their fans don't spin up til 70% load, though they did have electrical noise problems for a while there, new batches seem to be dead silent though (mine is).

Thank you corsair for making fully modular high end psus for lower price. I might actually buy one of these in the future since they are so much cheaper than ax series.

Edit: And I also had to use google to find this thread since forums search didn't find anything.....

Really? Corsair RM in the search box brought it up perfectly.

Flat 24 pin cable pretty nice looking , but yer i don't really see any big improvements over the hx series other then that the zero rpm mode is till 40 % compared to the hx 20 %, but then again i got a hx 620w and i can't even hear that fan running.

Is that a proper 24 pin cable? I can't stand those stupid 20+4 connectors. My PSU has 20+4 and it's a pain!

I just sent in a HX1000 for the same reason and it was accepted.

High end to low end. AXi, AX, RM, HX.

Despite the superior functionality of the RM unit, the RM series is actually a mid-range unit that is made to replaced the TX series - not the HX. I do agree that for the average consumer, the RM does offer better value than the HX series ATM, until it is updated. I made a post here above it with some sources: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/54669-new-corsair-rm-series-psu/?p=765870

You can expect on normal a week turnaround. This was from RMA quest, sending it in and getting the replacement.

I wish manufactures just got rid of those things all together. If your motherboard is too old to have a 24 pin connector, you should probably upgrade.
