New PC ... Overwhelmed by Choice

Trevtao

Hi All,

First time poster here so be gentle.

I'm currently looking at getting a new desktop computer ( two in fact ). The main uses for which will be for playing  World of Warcraft and modded Minecraft. Now I realise that these two games are not that demanding and wont need high end machines to run but I still want them to be able to be run at maximum everything. However even so when I start looking at all the different components I find myself becoming overwhelmed by choice. There are so many similar but ever so slightly different motherboards, graphics cards, ram, ssd's, etc.

I have a budget of $AU 1,500-1,700  per machine. I've played around with Pcpartpicker and come up with http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/rgsXgs .

The bits I've left out Ie case, monitor, optical drive etc. will if needed be added later or are ones I already have.

So basicly what I'm after is some sort of advice as to if I am heading in the right direction or need a change of plan. What are the advantages of the slightly differing "features" of some of the components and so on?

cheers.

If you can't now, then an actual hard drive for mass storage would be recommended. An R9 390 or 390x is better than a 970 paired with a 6600K, and other than that, you can A LOT more than just WoW and Minecraft with this build.

Hi.

This Build can run any Game in 1080p. NVidia Card is a good Choice.

Is your limit reached or can you squezze some more bucks out your wallet?

Look, I swapped some parts, so you can fit in a HDD. Also I swapped the RAM, because Skylake loves high memory bandwidth. Changed the PSU to an even better one and I swapped the cooler, cause these smaller AIOs aren't all that impressive.

He doesn't necessarily need an HDD or anything above a 250GB SSD, for that matter. It all depends on what else he's planning on doing... I don't even use 100GB on my HDD.
