Looking for a 4K solution (plex)

bcredeur97

Hello guys! Recently my dad told me that he wanted to grab a 4K tv. So thats cool, one problem though: how exactly am I going to stream 4K content to it.

Our network is good, my computer is powerful enough to transcode, but what I need is a solution for the client. We generally keep everything on our home plex server and watch the shows on the TV off of a wii U (lol) but now we need something proper that can support 4K playback should I put a 4K video in the plex server for us to watch.

Looking around it was kind of hard to find things, but I know for sure that 4K video does NOT work on the (Vizio) smart TV's plex app that I have looked at so far. So being that is the case, what device can I get that will be good enough to display 4K content for movie watching on the big screen? Preferably not something too too expensive (we need money for hard drives xD)... or if there is another entirely different solution around my issue do let me know.

The Roku 4 would be your best bet unless you're willing to spend the money for a custom HTPC or NUC.
