Best price on a 980 ti? I've found one for as low as $590 (evga bstock)... I'd like to get a new card (or at least have a warranty)

I'm getting it with my tax return which I'll receive in the next week, but I'm willing to wait for pascal

Also if you have any information on pascal, like any idea on when it'll be here?!

I was in best buy the other day looking at clearance towers to see if i could turn one into a HTPC for less than building one, and the manager said in about 5 weeks there will be a new series coming out... I don't know how accurate that is... just thought I'd leave it here

wait, it may take a while though, so if you urgently need a GPU then just get a 980ti

even if pascal is not great you will still be able to get used 980tis for even cheaper

If you have a rig that is capable enough for now I would wait. I don't think we will see cards in the next 5 weeks but we should see things by summer and have a real good idea about performance by both camps by Autumn. The only reason to buy a 980ti at this time is if you are building a rig currently and want to buy a card that will last a while. Upgrading...too close to a new technology window that is promising some substantial performance increases.

TL:DR - Save your money if you are upgrading. New tech may be amazing. If not you can always buy a 980ti later.

I'm in the same boat.. I think I'm going to wait.  I have a gtx970 right now so I'm not exactly hurting or anything, if the new releases don't offer a worthy enough improvement for their surely hefty price tags, I can at least bank on 980ti prices either dropping or being available used for cheaper :D

But I'm just thinking about when the 970 came out, it was pretty much on par with the 780ti, and was like half the price.  If we get a repeat of that this time around with something comparable to a 980ti for half the price, I just don't want to screw myself over on it lol.

I have an R9 280x, and I'm waiting for the Polaris and Pascal to release before getting a new card. I think that they will be worth waiting for.
