Minimum Mobile GPU to play at 1080p? and Recommendations.:)

Errenar

Im searching for a laptop to bring with me in Lan Gaming (LoL, Dota 2, etc., yes i know LoL and Dota 2 are online but me and my buddies love to play together in a single place) and work i can shell out around a max of ~$1100 but in that price range i already have some choices so what im looking for is to reduce my expenses.:), since i would also want to bring this to work i would like it to be thin and light if possible (i know most gaming laptops are quite heavy and a bit thick but there are ultrabook-ish ones out there, ex. ROG G501, Dell XPS 15, MSI GS series although these are not cheap at all lol), 14-15.6" would be the size and FHD would be my reso as the title states.:)), now what choices do i have?:)

Thanks all.:))

Yeah, they're awesome. Though their AccuType keyboard is a bit finicky I've found - If I am not pressing the button firmly and centered it sometimes cuts out until I put proper pressure on it. Feedback is great though - really like using it.

Whoops forgot to mention

i already looked at all of the models mentioned above and yes they are at my list already especially the sager/clevo one and the Dell 7559.:))

Are there any slim and light laptops not necessarily gaming oriented that could play at 1080p?:)) (ex. ultrabooks?)

or am i really limited to 960m as an entry point in 1080p gaming?:))

Just a reminder the only games i would play are light LAN Games, i got my desktop to do the heavy Triple AAA lifting.;))

You are not really limited to the 960M for starters, but if you want like extremely smooth framerate to play LAN games at high detail, 960M is a good start.

You could opt for the Lenovo Y50 - it's thinner and lighter than the Y700 (I have it  :D) - it's 2.4kg and 2.5cm tall

For me the only sh*t thing about them is the trackpad the cursor just doesnt go where you want it to go sometimes.

I almost always use an external mouse but the TrackPad hasn't given me trouble when used :D

The only real thing I am annoyed by is that sometimes, when moving forward with "W" it'll just stop until I move my finger or apply more pressure - keys have to be bottomed out for uninterrupted input but I guess that's the nature of laptops - a way for them to make key travel larger.

Where are you located? And if possible state your currency as well with your budget. If you don't we will take it as if you are in the US.

It's in my Topic post ~$1100 (This is converted though so $900-950 if based on US prices), but i already have candidates at that price point im looking for cheaper alternatives to lower the cost, any thin light 14-15.6" Laptop that could do light-medium Lan Gaming (LoL, Dota 2, etc.).:)

Ah yes i've watched that.:)), what i meant was the user reviews some state that it's slow (well of course thats a 5400rpm HDD) but they also say that when you buy the one with the SSD they still use the HDD as the boot drive and when you migrate it to the SSD you lose the one key feature i think?:)), anyways if it's priced competitively here the 5400rpm won't be an issue for me since i will just primarily use it for work and LAN Gaming.:))

I had the 5400RPM SSHD in my Y50 - it's sluggish but what can you expect for a 5400 SLIM HDD? SSD is the way to go :P

Speaking of the Y50, a good deal just turned up here i can buy a 6 month old one for almost the same price as the Dell 7559 but it's the updated version:

Display: 4k 15.6"

CPU: i7-4720HQ

GPU: Gtx 960m 4gb

Ram: 16gb

Storage: 512 SSD

Would the Brand New Dell still be better or shall i pull the trigger on this Y50?:))
