Lights? I would personally go with the K70 from corsair. It beats the blackwidow in almost all aspects.

No, but it costs as much as the blackwidow so price shouldn't be a problem unless there is a good deal for the blackwidow. Just keep an eye on it and I'm sure you will find something.

Whats wrong with the black widow series? I have an "old" one with cherry mx blue and it works like a charm. Switches are loud AF, but thats what you get with blue's. Can't speak for the new switches, but the keyboars itself is pretty solid.

Or did they seriously mess something up with the chroma series? LED control suite usability is kind of bad with any RGB keyboard IMO

the quality is crap

like most razer products

ive seen all kinds of issues from double typing to not typing correctly

the keys are not cherry MX keys, they are some cheap copy from china that wiggles sideways a ton

also according to linus the lighting transitions are smoother on the K70rgb

but yeah, overall its an overpriced cheap plastic keyboard thats not even worth half its price

Well, in that case I'm kinda happy that I have the no-nonsense version. keys are valid mx blues and it is durable. Guess I have to break a lance for Razer here. Survived a few glasses of water and dealt with numerous papers during 10 semesters of university, hours of gaming and programming. Maybe they lost their shit when changing for their own switches

I own a refurbished one that I used for several months and had no issues. I only switched to my current keyboard because I think the clicking was bothering my upstairs neighbor. It's a fine keyboard, my only complaint is that the "frosted" plastic surface fingerprints pretty easily. Aside from that, I didn't have any issues with the quality. People tend to hate on the keyboard because it's Razer, and because the switches are Kailh. It used to be that there weren't any Cherry MX Blue RGB keyboards (got discontinued on the RGB K70), but I think with the Corsair Strafe that's no longer the case.

Yeah, the clicking can get annoying. I got O-tings but think about getting an MX brown TKL for myself too. 'd advise OP to get a tactile-non-clicky version if possible.

Regarding the glossy finish, I fixed that following Luke's mod from a while ago, sandy it down with stripping pads. Worked like a charm.
