Try playing The Division in 1080p and hold 60fps with a 380x, or Rise of the Tomb Raider. Too new? Try playing The Witcher 3 in 1080p with all the settings at ultra and hold 60fps with a 380x.

Double dog dare you.

I'd say that's pretty good since it's at 1440p while he'll be at 1080p

I have not tried an AMD card yet but I have used a gtx 970 and I loved that card to death before it was shattered by my mom.

Get the 390X , especially since it's made by Sapphire, it'll probably run cooler than 970 as well.

Those last 2 links are not 100% to be "trusted", since that's more of theoretical comparison.

But first 2 videos you will see acctual benchmarks and comparsion.

I would go with R9 390X in your case. DirectX 12, 8GB VRAM for higher resolutions (better for future), 512bit vram etc.

The only bad thing about R9 390X is power usage.

Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 140mm fans

ASUS STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 or

SAPPHIRE R9 390X 8G GD5 LITE

I am gonna start building a new system,
with an I7-5820K/3.3G/15MB/BOX/2011 V3

thats why i need a good gpu for streaming and for heavy games.

As of right now they perform very similarly. But the 8GB on the 390X should be better in the long run.

Edit: And this is coming from someone who tends to lean towards the Nvidia side of things.

The 390X is more comparable to a GTX 980, not a 970. Only the 390 and 970 are almost evenly matched, with the 390 having a roughly 5% advantage.

Ok then The th 390x With X99S SLI PLUS

You can't put AMD cards in SLI. That's a different technology called CrossFire, which the motherboard also supports. Don't let that alone influence your choice though! Make sure to get opinions from others and read up on reviews. I don't have any personal experience with the board but I have heard of some pretty bad happenings with it. Personal recommendation is the ASUS X99-A, though there may be other or better options. A different topic in the appropriate is probably the best option here.

Yeah. I just knew the 390 and the 390x were comparable to the 970 and 980, but came /w 8GB of VRMA instead of 4GB (or 3.5GB). In both cases I think the 390 and the 390X are the better options right now, with the 980ti being the best at the high end.
