EKWB Nickel flaking, am i affected

so i'm using an ekfc680 nickel plated gpu block, a coper cpu block and a alluminium radiator. my coolants will be distilled water and silver. i know that ek has had nickel flaking issues in the pass and they fixed it but i'm not sure if my 680 fullcover block was made after they fixed the issue or not

How can we answer the question without knowing anytin about your block? Maybe you could give us the date of purchase or why you ask the question in the first place are there any effects?

Can you show us which block you have?

Also, the aluminum radiator......are the inner channel made of aluminum or only the outer shell?

It's this one https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc680-gtx-en-nickel

and as for the radiator , i think the interior is alluminium too http://www.larkooler.tw/p_view.asp?area=1352&cat=1497&sn=476

Get that aluminum radiator out of your system ASAP.

This. Mixed metal systems like that are just begging for corrosion issues on ALL parts FAST.

Also, silver and nickel are getting close to being dissimilar metals.  Aluminum is much worse though

You should be fine with the plating since this block was made with the newer plating process after we had our flaking issue.

If possible I would ditch that radiator because the specifications says that the water tunnels are made of aluminum so in contact with the water in the loop....which is not a good thing.

I recommend the EK radiators or Hardware Labs. Both A+ quality.
