i7 2600 or Build new system?

Arty

I have this (i3) http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03152250

i was thinking about upgrading to 8GB of ram and getting a i7 2600

would it be worth

or just build a new system for 800$+

I use it for Inventor CAD, and video composition.

and why is the i7 2600 still 300$????

That's very similar to an old desktop I got from best buy years ago. Was also a HP p7- something. Shitty motherboard, questionable power supply from what I remember. Not sure if it even had 80% efficiency.

Better off building a new pc

It's $300 because nobody wants it.

For Inventor and video editing you'd probably want to build a new system.

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

If my post helped you, please rate it!

For your needs,  build a new skylake system.  The new i7 a will help CAD and video a lot compared to 2600k
