Who never got windows vista to crash on them (without the service packs) i managed not to crash ever in the history of my old hp

I found Vista really good, I reckon it was a worthy successor to XP. What let Vista down imo was the hardware that people were using.

exactly pentium 4's anyone, i had an athlon x2 64 bit 4-6 gb of ram was awsome on vista

Vista was enjoyable, I had it since day 1 launch and the only pitfall was getting some new equipment as XP drivers or XP devices (some printers etc) were not compatible. I like the layout and design, the RAM consumption was a little weird but I've never really had a vista system hard crash or just go bananas with system files... All in all goo experience, Have used every MS OS since 98... I know I'm young, shush.

prob cuz your pc was weak i had quite a good pc back then i rekon its a pentium 4 ht. Athlon X2 were liked more by vista also 4 gb of ram also help

Vista was the most stable operating system I ever had.

 

That said, Windows ME was the second most stable (ran it until 2007) so I probably have no credibility here.

i dunno i just had an athlon X2 and it worked like glory, the only thing that killed it was the amount of dust it accumulated, since i was incompetent with pc's back then.

Yea i know Vista was a great boy to me, It never crashed on me and it was magic compared to my xp laptop, Still miss XP tho them sound cause nostalgia

I hated how dated XP looked, probably one of the reasons I liked Vista so much.

that it the only thing i hated about xp, how dated it looks lol, I would have replaced the vista startup sounds with xp startup

I never used Vista as my daily driver but I worked with both XP and 7 and then when I went to work on an older Vista system it suuuucccckkkkkked. 

 

Linus once made a video about how Vista didn't crash, then he showed his computer with an up time of many hours but... he had like top of the line hardware.

I went to Vista pretty early, but after the initial reports of driver issues. The only serious problems I had went away when I installed the most current graphics drivers. (I got ultimate for WMC which I got from a company issued MSDN license.)

I had a pentium 4 with 4 gbs or Ram. I don't know what happened, it was good at first but soon it took forever to do anything. Now I can't even open any browsers with it, right now it's sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

Vista was a big deal amongst PC gamers when it was released. It was available as the first proper 64 bit windows,freeing us from the tyranny of the 3.something (3.12 if I remember correctly?) memory limit, which was becoming a serious bugbear of XP. I found it to be perfectly stable, and it ran fine on my gaming PC. Though the constant 'are you sure?' messages were a pain in the ass coming from XP, thankfully they were toned down for 7. I don't recall if it ran completely crash-less, or just almost crash-less, but it was certainly better behaved than the XP machine that preceded it. Better behaved than my current rig too
