A 380 would not run The Witcher 3 at 1080p with stable 60 fps. You'd need at least a GTX 980 and there might still be some drops in FPS because of the i5.

380x would be the sweet spot for 1080p at the moment

 

anything higher is awesome if you have the money

 

 

But if you want to max out EVERYTHING on 1080p,

even my Fury can't do that with 60fps in GTA5

Witcher is even more demanding

EVGA, mostly because of customer service and the upgrade program that lets you use the price you paid to upgrade if a better graphics card comes out within 90 days.

The Step Up program won't do him any good since it's doubtful the Pascal cards will be out by mid May. But the customer service is always a great reason to pick EVGA. They're the only OEM I know who will let you replace the cooler and they also allow custom BIOS as long as you have a dual BIOS card.

Both of those games are also better on Nvidia than AMD, so your best price to performance option is the GTX 970. If you have the money for the 980 Ti though, it's much more powerful than the 970. You're talking about a 50% improvement. A 980 Ti is ridiculous overkill at 1080p 60 Hz, so you should consider buying a 1440p monitor later if you go the 980 Ti route.

980 Ti is actually better than the Titan X

 

Also, if you have no budget why don't you run 980 Ti in 4 way SLI?

I chose a 4GB GTX 960 over the better 380/380X for one reason: EVGA. Their customer service is second to none.
