Steam user data

Is there a way to move steam user data off my SSD? Cause it is take up 12 gb. its not a game, it just in a load of files with numbers for names.

Install Steam on another drive. done.

But would i have to backup my games so i could restore them again? With the new install

after installing Steam just add your existing SteamLibrary folder as a Library location in the Steam settings (would give you more detailed instructions but I'm at work and I don't have Steam installed or how to install it)

a more or less frankenstein-y way to do it is to just move the entire steam folder to a different drive, and symlink it to its original position.

 

one day i'll make a guide for this...
