Phenom II 1100t or the 965BE :D None of the new amd cpu's look better than them even if they perform better. Looks like the A8/A10 branding was a bit of a failure :P

I've never actually had an intel CPU in a personal rig that i've spent time with (I have a 4770k behind me but that isn't built and running yet) but it guess it would have to be the 2500k as that was quite a big leap and the start of a new "Core" generation.

I used to use that, it randomly caught fire one day. Good times.

E8400, still running it at 3,6 with stock cooling. Bought it ~5 years ago, no voltage changes no nothing, just upped the multiplier. 2 BSODs ever, and that was back when I was using win vista.

I hope the new i74770K that i'm about to buy is going to change my fav CPU. But for that i'll need to win the silicon lottery :D

Intel Q6600 core 2 quad.  It was my first 64 bit build, my first multi core build and I'd have to say my first "serious" gaming rig.  I had it on an XFX 780i triple SLi board with 8 gigs of Kingston hyper x and 2 GTX 460s in SLi :)

From AMD it would have to be my very old Barton 2500+?  I think that's what it was anyway.  I know it was a Barton on socket A.  It's been so long since that build.  I Still have the AMD one in a board somewhere kicking around.  I haven't run it in years.  But that Intel one is alive and kicking as a HTPC/space heater haha.  Over clocked at 2.9 GHz.

486 DX4-100.................................@120mhz via Dipswitch FSB overclocking.(not at first but over time)

My Uncle had a P133 and a P166 the next year after I had mine... Mine was still comparable, The FPU was Powerful in the DX4 series.

Oh DX4-120! My first love at the age of 9, broke it many many many times, in which case I had to fix fix fix it many times.

Great learning experience, doing multiple re-installs and different changes each time after installing different things..

Since then its been many favourites, starting early on in the CPU race I've had many fav's from both camps.

My 2600k has proven worthy of late since throwing it in a new motherboard.

Old Max OC 4.7ghz, New Mobo 5.2ghz.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Personally, I loved my 955be, it was a great CPU for a budget build, it was great performer. 8350 was a great upgrade for me though being able to get it up to 5Ghz. and get a great performance upgrade. Honestly I'm extremely happy with my AMD CPU's for the money I spent.

Intel - my CPU of course, hail to the 4670K! From AMD, probably the FX8320, cause it is so cheap for the performance it offers.

Back in the day- the first PC I put together by myself- Athlon 64 3000+. Was amazing for it's time and such great value. Socket 939, when AMD pulled the rug out from under intel's feet. This baby clocked at just 1.8Ghz could game better than pentium 4s clocked near 3Ghz, thanks to superior IPC, all while staying cooler and taking less power. How times have changed.

I love my i5-2500k, its one of these few tech products that is almost universally loved. At the time I bought it most of the gaming world was infatuated with the thing. It reminds me of the 7850 of CPU's

I also like the FX-8350 from AMD, seriously a great card.

My friend has a 4670k and it is damn nice too.

I'm the one who overclocks.
