A Slowed-Down Windows XP Start-Up sounds majastic.

Published to mark the occasion of the 20th birthday of Windows 95. Happy birthday, Windows 95.
 

As part of a project on his Soundcloud page, London-based musician Daniel John Jones has experimented with slowing down the playback of an assortment of Windows start-up sounds. He's taken each of them and slowed them by 4000 percent.

In the case of Windows XP, that extends the start-up noise to just shy of three minutes, and it's a mix of eerie build-up and dramatic pay off that we seem to get. Take a listen:

They don't really sound at all alike. It's been quite a while since I've heard the xp sound and couldn't figure it out from the slow version. 

My posts are in a constant state of editing :)

There is a feature in Audacity called "Paulstretch". They use that to stretch the audio out.

I just listened through all of the slowed down Windows Start Sounds, he actually has W95, W98, WNT and W Vista on there too. It's sound absolutely beautiful and really dreamy. In parts it even reminds me of Clams Casino's work, just without the baselines and all.
