Yep. You just won't have PWM control. If your mobo allows it, you can control fan speed on DC voltage, or you can install a fan controller for even greater fine tuning of your fan speeds.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

33pins can also be controlled. And also PWMs will run at full speeds unles they are configured to follow some rule/curve.
