Should I wait for Pascal?

Go to solution Solved by Praesi,

The 20936 should i wait for Pascal Thread B|

If you want a good Card now, buy one now. There is no point in waiting for something thats easy 6 month´s away and we know nothing about.

So, I'm looking into getting a new graphics card. At this stage, I'm going to be going for the EVGA GTX 980Ti 6GB Superclocked. However; with Pascal "around the corner" should I wait.

I've heard that a "Titan" equivalent will be released first, with the more affordable "980ti" equivalent coming in early 2017. I'm not sure if waiting that long is worth it, or if I should get a decent card now, considering we don't even know what the new Pascal cards will even be like, or who they will be focused on.

Thanks!

i would wait

people think its delayed, if it is I highly doubt it will be several years delayed, so just be patient and wait a while, it will be worth it in the end (if not, then you will be able to get a used 980ti or two for really cheap)

I think u should wait since pascal is going to be released near Black Friday, and when they do the 980ti is going to be cheaper and with Black Friday you'll have a killer deal, that's saying pascal is going to be bad it, I hear that the new 970 will handle 2k and the new 980ti will handle 4K, by handle I mean very high setting with consistent 60 fps

its up to you. It would be a huge improvement from your 750 ti. You could always resell it. It depends if your fine with staying with your 750 ti for a bit longer.

But I think that there is no problem with using the 750ti unless he wants to game on 2k

I have to agree, there are always going to be better cards in the future, if you need one now, buy it now, pascal is not going to come till like July and it´s going to be a small core gp 104.

well the 750 ti leaves a lot to be desired even at 1080p.
