Posted February 1, 2016 I currently am running a GTX 960 and i5 4460. I'm thinking of upgrading to a GTX 980 or buying another GTX 960 and adding it next to my current GPU. Also, can I sli two graphics cards with different brands? Thanks, Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/538765-gpu-performance-question/ Share on other sites
 Posted February 1, 2016 always prefer a single gpu over sli if theyre performing almost the same. it requires less psu power, less hassle with compatiblity. Posted February 1, 2016 SLI GTX 960 is not that good, especially if you have 2GB cards. I understand a GTX 980 will be more expensive than one extra 960, but it would be better IMO. You could also go for an R9 390 or 390X "We're all in this together, might as well be friends" Tom, Toonami. mini eLiXiVy: my open source 65% mechanical PCB, a build log, PCB anatomy and discussing open source licenses: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1366493-elixivy-a-65-mechanical-keyboard-build-log-pcb-anatomy-and-how-i-open-sourced-this-project/ mini_cardboard: a 4% keyboard build log and how keyboards work: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1328547-mini_cardboard-a-4-keyboard-build-log-and-how-keyboards-work/ Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/538765-gpu-performance-question/#findComment-7139759 Share on other sites
 Posted February 1, 2016 Get a GTX 980 or even a R9 390X as it has better value compared to the 980 especially at 1440p and 4K. If you want to reply back to me or someone else USE THE QUOTE BUTTON! Posted February 1, 2016 I would sell your 960 and get yourself a 980ti if you have budget or 980/R9 390x/NANO. Magical Pineapples
