Should i get Gtx 770 sli or Gtx780

cliff_182

My budget is $800

I'm using a 1080p monitor

nd i know it may be overkill but I'm using a gtx 560 ti for 3 years nd want a card(s) that'll be "good" for maybe 4-5 years.

I have a Asus Sabertooth x79 so I can only go upto 2-way sli, which means i cant add another in the near future. Never went sli before and i've heard they sometimes may not give good scaling in games.

Nd i'm also worried that 2gb may not fair well later

thnx a lot guys

780 for less problems. You could SLI that in the future if you like.

Get GTX 780 but to be honest if you can live few days longer without new GPU, wait. Wait for what? For new Radeons. Wait until 1st October, if there are no new GPUs just buy GTX 780. But if the rumors are true... either GTX 780 goes cheaper or it won't sell anymore. And if it goes cheaper and you dont want to get Radeon, get it AFTER the price goes down. :)

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

780, sli still has more problems than its worth, and if you come across more money, you could sli it.

780, you're always best to get the most powerful single card you can afford.

I quite like the look of the EVGA ACX cards. They just look awesome and they don't whine like other cards do. Go for it :D

Compatible with Windows 95

Seriously you should try SLI again. I have absolutely zero issues with SLI on my new cards.

Oh but no, sli is so bad, so bad that you get more performance for the same price lol. I think having multiple gpus is like the coolest thing ever people just down it because most people hop on the band-wagon of most builds muti-card setups are epic and i salute all who agree. sli 770 all the way :)

1080p? 770 SLI.

If you plan to be on that same 1080p panel for a while then go 770 SLI.

If 1440P is in your future, get one 780 and another later on after you upgrade your monitor.

The 770 sli and 780 sli are not that far apart in benchmarks and yet the cost difference its tremendous.

Get a 780 if you are going to be playing games that don't scale well in sli, if not go for the 770 sli. It would help if you gave a list of games you want to play.

780. Thats overkill for a 1080p resolution, I mean seriously. I say max games out until the next crysis. Plus its cheaper and is much less fussy than an SLI config.
