Asus PG279Q Or PG348Q

jinroh10

Ok I have the option of getting the Asus PG279Q at 165hz and 2560x1440 or the Asus PG348Q at 100hz, which would you pick? Oh and it's for gaming purposes of course like BF4, Hardline and now The Division.

If your going to play first person shooters, ultra wide is good. I'm thinking about the Acer X34 or Asus PG348Q for 3440x1440.

With that being said what do you think about the 100hz...will it be smooth enough as oppose to 165hz?

You've gotta ask yourself if the trade offs are worth it because there's a huge price gap. The PG348Q is wider but the refresh rate is lower and is $800 (for me) more. It's something to really consider. After considering these 2 monitors for a while I'm going to settle with the PG279Q because it's way cheaper and I plan to upgrade to 4K in the next 2-3 years.
