Best Laptop under $400

Philcat101

I have been trying to find a laptop for under $400 to give to someone.

They don't need that much power at all, so I would like to have better build quality and longevity. Extra power is still a bonus, as they aren't tech savvy and would completely freak out if their system froze.

I assume they wouldn't want to upgrade too often, so a large capacity HDD would be good.

Thanks!

LIBERATOR: Core i5 6400 @ 2.7GHz | GeForce GTX 670 2 GB | HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 @ 2133 MHz | 250 GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD
My new build; Liberator, Check it out

The more friendly we are, the more helpful we are!

MY OLD BUILD (AKA PREBUILT MONSTROSITY)
INSANITY: AMD Athlon II X2 @ 3.0 GHz | Geforce GT 720 2 GB | 4 GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz | 120 GB Silicon Power SSD | 500 GB Hitachi HDD

Please buy a used Thinkpad.

Top notch build quality, made of metal, very reliable.

Look up a used T410 for example.

Almost as cool as my temps

What about an HP Stream? It's basically a blue piece of shit, but it would get the job done.

IdeaPads are consumer grade rather than business grade, that laptop has good specs but the build quality won't be as sturdy (it's plastic).

If you can get one for a good price it shouldn't disappoint.

This kind of thing. Hard to disagree with the price  ;)
