Posted September 5, 2013 Hey, so i can back from school and opened my laptop up, and there was this weird mark on it that wont seem to go away but doesn't seem to affect anything. I have a touch screen ultrabook (asus 2400c). There is no observable damage to the exterior of the laptop and the lid has remained closed for only about an hour before i opened it to find this. I didn't hit my bad hard or subject it to any extremes. What is it and how do i fix it? I can post more pictures of it on different screens or what not if you guys ask. Posted September 5, 2013 strange definitely not dead pixels or that you have hit the screen by accident or knocked it!! ~james Check out my current projects: Selling site (Click Here) If($reply == "for me to see"){ $action = "Quote me!"; }else{ $action = "Leave me alone!"; }
 Posted September 5, 2013 Author I'm positive nothing hit the screen. When i move the laptop the edges kinda look like waves, in a similar effect that you would get if you put your finger on an LCD screen
 Posted September 5, 2013 I know this mark. It's kinda like a bright spot or a dark spot. If you see how an LCD work here: You can see that the problem is that the sheet that spread the light got bended, and light from the back light distorts. Usually, this happens when you apply too much pressure on the device, which is what probably happen when you carrying it one day. I am afraid you can't fix this. I have 3 spot on my laptop, because one day I carried my university books with it. In my case, they are not very visible (only on white, and if you pay attention), but yea... sucks Manufactures consider this as accidental damage. So if you have this protection, I am afraid they won't cover it. But hey, who knows you can always try, and might just take it.
