Minecraft can barely take advantage of one core, let alone six.

oh, it'll take advantage of 1 core; it will bring that core to its knees!  But yeah probably won't benefit from more than 2

So you like rubbing the fact that you have more money (As in being able to buy a good PC) than him in his face?

Wow what an a hole.

I'll reiterate my previous statement: You already get 1500fps and you want to spend money getting even more?! Are you for real?

You don't think 12 to 25 times more is "more enough"?

If it was the primary use of the computer you'd have mentioned it in the OP, not minecraft.

Pointless topic is pointless.

Maybe you do, but it doesn't matter what else it might be useful for; the original question was whether or not it will help Minecraft fps, because you like having a huge number to rub in your friend's face:

would a 6 core 5820k or broadwell-e 6 core get better fps in minecraft with 16 or 32gb ddr4? i get 700-1500 fps right now. i like such high fps so i can tell my friend how many fps i get because his laptop struggles to get 60 fps

It's a fact - that's what was said and asked.  Not judging, but if we're going to stay on topic, we can't start talking about how a 6 core might help video editing since that had nothing to do with this question.  It's a valid question - maybe one you want to ask - but that's not what was asked here.

So, to echo what everyone else has said, no, it most likely won't help at all since Minecraft cannot use very many cores.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

You need to understand some fundamental friendship rules.....

I'll still answer this dumb or troll question. AFAIK you can use more than 2 cores in minecraft, either through java commands or mods like optifine.
