Reference GTX 680. Is this BIOS legit or not?

Big_Chief

So, I'm about to acquire a pretty much new reference GTX 680. The guy I got it from bought an old system that was hanging around in a warehouse for a few years and replaced the 680 with a 980 Ti and pretty much gave it to me for nothing. Anyway, I ended up looking for a reference bios to see if there were any newer verions and I came across this on the techpowerup website.

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?architecture=NVIDIA&manufacturer=NVIDIA&model=GTX+680&interface=&memType=&memSize=

According to this, the most recent update was over a year after it's launch and the clocks speed were increased to pretty much match a GTX 770. Question is, is it legit? I've used the site before and I do trust it but I don't want the card to overheat and catch fire :P . If anyone knows, please do tell me. Thanks.

What's wrong with the BIOS on it?

You don't need to update it unless something is wrong with it.  It's not like motherboards where new versions will give better support for certain things ETC.

A bios for a GPU is not like a motherboard, leave it alone.
