I'm looking to build a computer with 1000$ budget and I do want to move to two monitors at some point, but one will do for now. My build so far would be:

CPU: Xeon E3 1231 V3

Motherboard: ASUS H97 Plus

GPU: Asus Strix Geforce GTX 970

The computer will be meant for gaming and streaming, so I'm hoping to get some advice on which parts to buy that might be better. I am buying my memory in advance, so it would help to know how many DDR3 sticks I should buy so I don't wind up getting ram that doesn't work with my motherboard. I do want to move to two monitors when I can afford an extra, but for now one monitor will be fine. What other parts do you guys suggest?

Also, do I need a wireless card or is it built into the motherboard? This is my first build, so I'd appreciate any and all advice! Thanks guys!

I do need a monitor - I already have the OS CD, speakers, mouse, etc. And yeah, thanks for reminding me xD

It's also better if you A: User http://pcpartpicker.com/ to make a list and B: If you quote the person so they remember to reply xD

Do you need Nvidia features and/or CUDA @TechMali?

You will need a wifi card if you are using wifi as your motherboard does not have wifi.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Or this:

@DocSwag

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I'm not really sure what you mean by Nvidia features - I know it deals with the graphics, I believe. Do you mean using multiple graphics cards?

You will need a wifi card if you are using wifi as your motherboard does not have wifi.

I already knew this, but thank you! Is there a particular card I should get or are wifi cards a dime a dozen like memory is? xD

Why change the video card? Would my build get bottlenecked by other components or do you just think it would run better with that video card? Everything else looks pretty solid to me xD

Also I'm not really sure how to quote in an edit :'D So sorry for the double post

Because the 390 performs a bit better in most games and has double the VRAM yet it costs less.

Thanks for that, I wouldn't have known otherwise, there are so many video cards out there. xD I'll learn as I do things. I'll copy down this list for reference when it's time to buy my parts =)

Still open to suggestions though!

He listed a monitor at the bottom of the list. Would you suggest a better one? Keep in mind it would be for a gaming computer.

I made a build without a monitor for that price, no gave up i could quikly find less expensive H97 board
