All in One Sleeper?

Is it possible to use the case of a CRT monitor/TV to make a Sleeper case All-in-one? Has anyone done that?

If someone were to do that I guess they's have to use a LCD panel, so I guess it would be slightly noticeable that it's a sleeper.

That would be really cool to see.

Gigabyte HAD a Barebone All-in-One system. You could:

  • Add your own CPU (desktop CPU)
  • Add your own GPU (up to 550W)
  • Custom storage (2.5" or 3.5")
  • Custom system memory (RAM)

You can, but you'd have to find a 4:3 ratio monitor as others have said. It's not too hard, as they're out there, but you won't have a standard resolution when it comes to games.

I wouldn't do it. Not to mention they take up a lot more space than a monitor plus a good mITX case...

I'm guessing it didn't really take off. The complete lack of any useful information on their website also doesn't help matters.

But, let's be real. Most people that want a machine like that are also probably the people that want to go in, and walk out with it working. They don't want molecularity.

That's actually not a bad idea.

I think I still have an old Dell P1110 19" held up in storage. The case is pretty hefty (beast weighs like 11kg) and I'm pretty sure it'll hold at least an ITX motherboard, if not mATX (hell, if I remember correctly it might even fit a full ATX board in it!

Could be a fun little project to do. Might even give it a shot if I have any leftover components I could mash together
