l need help

Go to solution Solved by Ominous,

If you are willing to start a YouTube channel.  Start small.  If you are just going to invest in a $1000 dollar laptop just for YouTube.  I personally would do that unless you also want to use that laptop regularly for other means.  It is really difficult to get started on YouTube now since people only want to watch the larger channels.  Try a hand me down first before purchasing a very costly laptop.  I got a free Surface Pro 2 for free from my Dads work.  I still have it and I used it when I first started out YouTube.

Try out YouTube first since it takes a lot of time and energy to get going and if you want to stay on YouTube, you are going to have to have serious time planning and organization.  You have to schedule your videos and be a reliable source of videos.  Always make sure your fans and stuff know if something is wrong with you.

Seriously, make sure what you are doing.  Also, never think that YouTube can be a job.  You make very little money off of it.  From what I have gathered: 1000 Views ~ $1.00

Desktop. Much better value.

Invest in a decent webcam or camera.

Get a nice mic. Not some cheapo $10 one.

If I were you?

I would get a 1500 dollar PC (with something like an i7 4790K or even 6700K and an R9 390) and spend the other 500 dollar on equipment (like a microphone and stuff). Personally I dont really see the need for a laptop (for my own scenario) so I wouldnt need one

For mike get a Blue Snowball

Pc depends of preference, BUT GET A DESKTOP

I would suggest aneil1998's setup suggestion, seems fine enough.

And finally INVEST IN WIFI make sure you have A REALLY GOOD INTERNET CONNECTION. Uploading will be living hell without it.

"I have a small pc" and "i decide either to buy a desktop or a laptop" are pretty unclear. That sounds like a very vague idea... like "I want to be an astronaut and I have 200M$". You can have the money but it's nothing if you don't have any plan.

Mate, asking "the internet" what to do with your life seems like you're going to throw away 2k just for fun.

if you have 2000 bucks burning a hole in your pocket you could check out some of MSI's more powerfull laptops. i wouldn't recommend getting a ITX rig, as that would be very impractical when traveling.

also, ASUS makes some awesome laptops too.
