Should I wait for the 9000 series?

Hi guys, I was originally going to get a 7970 in July but then my order got cancelled due to low stock and then I became extremely busy with school work... now it's September and I still haven't bought my new graphics card. All my other new parts for my new rig have been sitting here for weeks :P

At this point in time, do you guys think it would be a wiser idea to wait for the 9000 series to come out? My budget is $430-450 MAX so I will probably be getting something like a Radeon HD 9950 (does anyone know anything about its expected price?). I am currently using a GTX 460 1GB.

If you don't need to immediately upgrade, wait.

The 9000 series may be better or parts may get cheaper.

I don't really want to wait that long to build my new rig, but I will if it means extra performance at a lower cost than the 7000 series (the 7970 can be found for under $300 now so the 9000 series better be really good lol). When will the 9950 be released?

you could probably expect a 7970 to before slightly better than a 9870, and the 9870 will probably launch in october for more than $300, but we'll see.  Either way since the price of 7000 series cards are so low its not a bad decision but having current gen stuff is always better.

Will the 9950 fit my budget?

It should be fine but it's a bit more than I'd like to be paying

idk man, up to you can you be patient and wait and see? the prices could drop more, they could stay the same. or even go up to $350+ again for 7970's (but i doubt it)
