Can't under clock a Pentium 820. Help!

Intel 102ggc2 LGA 775. BTW, should i run the computer and keep a thermometer as near as I can to the CPU and take a reading?

Na your fine, if you are sure the cooler is mounted right and thermal paste was applied right you are most likely fine :)

Ok so I looked on the spec list of the 820 so I can confirm there is no thermal monitoring on that chip so the BIOS is going to either be giving you false readings or a socket temperature reading (which I doubt) so when you install windows also try doing a BIOS update if there is one available and see if that does anything to help.
