What computer specs does your school have?

At our school we have about 350 early 2014 Macbook Airs for the students, with i5s, 4Gb of ram, and 128Gb HDD, and that is plenty since we have a primary server to file dump. We are soon getting the new Macbooks I believe, although that 1 port shit will suck. The teachers have Macbook Pro's(no retina) but with top of the line specs, every student gets a mac and they can take it home and do whatever they want on it, we also have around 30 promethean boards, and an apple TV in every room, along with built in Bose audio in every room.

this is a public school, co funded by Intel and Google

oh and we can take an elective and become a certified apple technician to repair school computers, I am not sure what the specs of our animation PC's are

We had 25mbs email space until we moved to office 360.... Mostly i7 4th gen and no GPU... but mostly have 27inch monitor 1080p which is quiet good for basic task.

Meanwhile at my school in hong kong... All secondary students have a macbook pro retina, all primary students have iPads, the design classrooms have some old iMacs, and the film editing department has a few 5k iMacs.

Looks like your school is jelly. BTW I go to college, so there's that. Also my animation professor says the performance isn't stellar, though I would have to disagree with that (Except for the GPU part), as it eats my complex projects for fucking breakfast

 

Also fun fact: The vast majority of the animation computers are the Ivy Bridge-E ones, which costs in the neighborhood of $3,000 USD each (Circa 2014) while the Boxx Technologies Xtreme workstation costs even more than that due to the 32GB of RAM and the K5000. I don't know how much the latter cost.
