Max Overclock Recommendation

What would you guys say the maximum overclock I could do on my 8320 will keeping fans at lowest RPM? At stock I can max at like 50 and average 45 Celsius under load

Edit: with a watercooler

iirc 65 degrees C is the throttling point for FX CPUs so probably aim for 60 as max temp. increase it until that point.

They don't seem to think there is any issue aiming for 4.5 to 4.8

The issue is my board 'sweats' (literally) where the thermal pads under the vrm start leaking resin

Ok, then either put a fan on them directly or tune it down.

I ran f@H for about 15 minutes with my fans turned all the way down and I maxed at 69.4 degrees. So no to 4.5Ghz. Maybe 4

from what you're telling us, I'd replace that board immediately and get a good 990 chipset board

The 970 chipset isn't really good for 8-cores. Get an overbuilt 990FX board and you'll be much happier. Although I'm not sure whether it's worth it to invest in AdmittedlyMediocreDevices at this point.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro
