hd 7970 ghz or msi gtx 760 hawk

lioton2000

Here normal 7950s and 760s are about 260 and the 760 hawk is around 300. My numbers are in euros though

GTX 760 Hawk for 1050PLN, Radeon 7950 (i need the exact model but let's say Sapphire VaporX) ranging from 930PLN without games to 1050-ish PLNwith the game bundle

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

The 7970 still beats the 770 but its its close. Honestly if I were you I would just wait until the 9000 series comes out unless you need to buy right now.

Also you should check out gpuboss.com Its what I used to compare the 7970 and 770. I rely on them to compare lots cards.

why would you use gpu boss to compare cards? If you looked at benchmarks you would see that the 7970ghz is about 93% of the 770's performance at 1080p and about 97-98% at higher resolutions. The amount of AMD fanboys on here is ridiculous

GPU boss is actually pretty good at ranking the cards.

The 7970 is a better overclocker than the 770 and they even out when both oc'ed.

This benchmark is not correct. It's comparing voltage unlocked 7950 & 7970 to voltage locked GTX cards... That's freakin amusing man, you really follow this video OCing? How do you know if overvoltaged OC-ed GTX 760 HAWK wouldn't be faster than 7950 (it IS faster than 7950 stock)?

Linus does NOT over-volt the tested cards, he overclocks on the stock voltage, had he actually started over-volting you'd see the AMD cards gaining an even larger performance advantage over the Nvidia cards.

That's because you can't even over-volt 600 & 700 series Nvidia cards, Nvidia locked the voltage via their green light program to reduce RMAs.

This is well known & that's one of the reasons why the 600 & 700 series can barely overclock.

When MSI unlocked voltage on the power edition they got a slap on the wrist from Nvidia and they were forced to remove this overclocking feature.

Nope, he did overvolt the card.

Nope, he did overvolt the card.

He did not, all the AMD overclocking was done via CCC which doesn't include over-volting, Lius increased the clock speeds & the power limit, the power limit is in no way associated with over-volting, it only prevents throttling once the GPU exceeds its designed TDP.

The only over-volted card is the 660 Ti, Linus uses the GPU Tweak tool from EVGA to overclock all the Nvidia cards GPU Tweak does have a voltage control slider, however it's either locked or extremely limited on the 600 & 700 series cards, only the 660 Ti from MSI had a generous overhead because it's the power edition which MSI unlocked the voltages on.

^ He's right, Linus does not over-volt, with the 660 ti power edition being the only exception.
This probably explains why the 7970 isn't perfroming as well as it should compared to the 7950 on his showdowns, the 7970 probably needs more voltage to achieve stability.

But in the spreadsheet he prepared, it show the R7950 overclocked is overvolted to 1.25v.

after xAcid9 help I'm getting 1170 core clock with 7970.. at 64c( at 1.256v)

3840 Fire strike extreme ... I think if I put  1.300v and 1200 I can get 4000... so I think it's a good card.  If it have microshuttering in skyrim, flickering shadow... or in far cry 3... search about and will find the 3 times more people asking for help with nvidia cards.

my brother have zotac 680amp...and is almost same thing as my 7970.
