Mechanical Keyboard Club!

Dave :)

If the cheaper switches mean that they have better quality control then it could be a good move.

I agree that they should more clearly differentiate the different models.

Got my Vortex Race 2 today, it's balck but comes with white LED and Blue switch and is an unusual 75% board. Somehow, the Blue seems more crisp than on my Ducky. Not saying that's a good thing or not, just saying that the sound is a tad higher pitch, and it feels a little more crisp than my Ducky, or my QF TK for the matter. So far, I'm liking this board though it's too early to tell. Look very similar my Keycool 84 in that it's a wall of keys kind of look....

Plugged in to my main rig, I always fiddle around with new keyboards on my main rig....

First image is my setup and work with my old, not-so-faithful Razer Blackwidow 2013 Edition. Second picture is of the setup at my home battlestation with my Ducky Shine 3 with Magenta LED's. Both keyboards have Cherry MX Blues. (I recently made the Rzer Mamba my mouse at work, and bought a Mionix NAOS 8200 for home.)

In a word, "NO!" Razer is just trying to sell a cheaper switch as the 'gaming switch', don't fall for their marketing BS....

It's all about personal preferences really. What switch do you want, what size do you want, macro keys or no macro keys and so on.

so in all respect is the razer blackwidow ultimate 2013 edition a good keyboard

A Cherry switch is a Cherry switch but there're so many other brands than Razer and Corsair. Try browse through http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/ and http://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/top/?sort=top&t=all, you'll be amazed of how many other options there are!

What's the point in Cherry MX Reds? The fact that they're mechanical? They don't seem that much different from regular membrane keyboards.

I no expert but because they don't have to be bottomed out they should reduce strain over a membrane

I guess because it's an 'LE', just checked with Rabbit Web Factory, the black is 125USD while the white one is 10USD more....damn, now I'm thinking I should have chosen the white one instead. I didn't quite like the green LED on it......

I would choose to buy the white one too, but Race 2 is just....so pricey.

They're much, much lighter than membrane keys, they're linear switches, and they're mechanical, so they'll last forever.

I'm confused, will this be different than the already existing Ducky Mini, or is that teaser all the information we've got?

Well, the only Duck Mini I have heard of is the Nordic version. I have not seen any ANSI type layout Duck Mini....at least where the 'Enter' or 'Return' key is concern. I am curious to see what the teaser is all about, guess we will find out soon enough....
