Mechanical Keyboard Club!

Dave :)

I'm afraid that other companies will join the knock off bandwagon

Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to see how well "Razer switches" sell. If they come out alright and comparable with Cherry switches, other companies might start buying those switches and stamping their company logos on it.....

Saw the vid, and honestly, it sounds like Razer is trying to sell it as a 'gaming switch' which is utter nonsense. Like Linus had said, w/o knowing what is underneath, you'd not be able to tell the difference between them....would the average Joe be able to pass the Pepsi challenge between Blue and Razer Green switches w/o seeing which is which? Honestly, you can only spin doctor a product that much, savvier keyboard peeps would know that it's all marketing.....but admittedly, since Razer sells a crapload of mechanical keyboards, they will achieve some sort of market penetration. I'm always game to try new switches, but this is one that I'd even consider.....

I've tried a "Razer switch" before, and it really feels similar to a Cherry switch.....I did a blind test once, and I feel ashamed that I wasn't able to differentiate which one was which switch :(

Someone over at GH, who has eagle eyes I might add, spotted the Kailh logo below the Razer branding on the switch, so it's prolly made in China by Kailh. Sounds like Razer's trying to spin doctor this switch into a 'gaming switch' and sell the BWU 2014 at the same price as the BWU 2013 (Cherry MX) and in the process make even more money.....which will pay for the marketing BS to sell the switch.

I agree. As I read about the new blackwidow, and saw that it had kailh switches, i thought it would be amazing considering most said they felt like MX blues, because my first thought was "Same KB, but cheaper!" Well i was right in reguards to it being cheaper, but not being cheaper for me.

A man of charm with strange quarks.

Lets not talk about razer using their own switch. Just imagine that other companies do the same, it will be an absolute disaster for everyone as every company are using different switches

I doubt Ducky would change :D unless there is a super mega epic uber shortage on Cherry switches D:

My speculation is that Ducky and Filco will not change while new companies will adopt the Razer switches to cut down on production costs. Steelseries and TTesports is still a 50/50

They may not necessarily go to razer, with Razer selling Kailh switches, perhaps other companies would approach them for switches. For me, it's either Cherry MX and Topre or nothing. I'd not touch a keyboard with 'Razer' switch with a ten foot pole!

Walk in to the store and tell them to give you a replacement or a refund, as long as you didn't break it yourself they have no reason to refuse you a replacement or a refund.

Crap happens to the best of 'em at times, I ahve various Ducky Shine keyboards and none of the LED's have failed.....yet. Heck, I even have a first gen Ducky Shine (which I'd traded with someone for one of my unwanted keyboards) and all the LED's are just fine....

Nice set man,

We have a similar setup , just wondering what OS are you currently running?

I'm having problem setting up the software on 8.1 (yeah you helped me, the steps are taken and done but none change due to 8.1 from my research)

latest software supported is windows 7 from what I read,

anyway this is my latest after I received a surprise package from Binge
