I was browsing through the forums and I realized that a lot of hate is directed towards corsair power supplies, and while I know the CX series isn't good for high end builds, what about the RM and AX series? Are they also bad, or just the CX series

PSU whitelist in my sig

RM is overpriced for what you can get for the same price and the AX (and AXi) are some of the best performing PSUs out there and the price reflects that. They're also known for coil whine.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The Corsair CX series power supplies are not very good PSU's because of their low temperature threshold and mediocre capacitors, however most other Corsair PSU's are very good or amazing however there are often very similar options that offer the same features for less money. Most Corsair PSU's just tend to have a price premium of 10-20$ versus competing PSU's.

Its only the CX.

Corsair's AX, AXi, HX, HXi and RMi are all quite good with Corsair's RM being alright as well, but not the greatest.

well my AX860i died, so i dont really want to risk buying their PSUs anymore, but there are thousands of other people using them with no problem so this is probably just an isolated incident

pretty much all the mid-high end PSUs from corsair are good quality

Thanks guys. I have an EVGA 850G2 so I'm not in the market for a new psu but I have a friend who used a CX600M with a 5930K and 390 and when another friend posted about it on LTT he got a ton of negative responses about his PSU and I was wondering if it applied to all Corsair ones.
