So im planning on upgrading my rig the current specs are

  • CPU
    pentium g3258
  • Motherboard
    gigabyte ga b85m hd3 motherboard
  • RAM
    8 gb kingston value ram
  • GPU
    sapphire radeon r7 265
  • Case
    corsair spec 02
  • Storage
    1 tb wd blue
  • PSU
    evga 500w
im planning on getting an i5 4460 a msi r9 380 4gb and a 250 gb samsung 850 evo
is it worth it or should i upgrade other parts

I would say PSU so that you would have more upgrade room in the future for more power hungry cards. PSUs are things that can last many different builds if you pick a good quality one with enough wattage. But yeah, those upgrades are perfect.

if the PSU is EVGA W1 80+ then that's the first thing to upgrade.

R9 390 with a W1 500? That reeks of "house fire" to me.

Perfect for a 390. SSDs are nice luxuries since you load into games a little quicker, but the 390, 4460, and XFX psu are the meat of your upgrade and what matter for gaming performance.
