Low FPS on CS:GO

charlezprice

Okay, so first up is my specs:

Intel Core i7 4790(non-k)

XFX R9 390 8GB

16GB Samsung RAM

Samsung 256 GB SSD

ASRock H97M Pro4 Motherboard

so clearly my specs shouldn't be the issue. But I picked up CSGO for the first time in probably like 3 months (since then I had upgraded my PC) and now I get really shitty fps. Like it's unplayable when smokes are thrown at me, and when a friend tries to watch my broadcast, it's unplayable as well. When playing, my GPU heats up for about 80 degrees, which seems pretty high so I thought it was thermal throttling. But in games like Battlefront or Fallout 4, my GPU goes to that temperature and I don't suffer from FPS drops at all. It's really strange and I want to be able to figure this out. Thank you!

That broadcast thing sounds like a ping issue, Broadcasts are usually unstable.

That's the least of my concerns; friends watching broadcasts is pretty unusual, I just threw that in there as I noticed it had unplayable FPS last night when a friend did watch me play.

Try to go in you driver settings and see if the game is downscaleing 4K to 1080p

i dont know if thats your issue, just a thought.

Its CSGO beeing CSGO,dont worry you aint the only one with FPS issues,I say just try Verifying Cache, reinstall, type -threads (x) in launch options or if nothing happens then just pray Volvo fixes the game...

That is very strange. I get 220-280 fps with my MSI r9 270x 4g and i5- 6600(non k). Maybe try turning down the graphics settings, all I can think of right now.

Tokyo Sunshine:Corsair 750d case with custom lighting, Asus ROG Maximus VIII Z170, Intel i5-6600 processor, 16gb HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM, MSI r9 270x 4gb@ 1300mhz mem clock, Sandisk Ultra II SSD 256gb, 2x 1tb HDD
