Parts for my new gaming pc

madskristiansen

Hi guys. I am about to build my very first gaming pc, and was wondering which parts would be best for me.

I am building in a Corsair Air 540, since i have it already

The cooler is a Cooler Master V8 GTS - had it lying around anyways.

In a few months i will get a free GTX 760 from a friend, so graphics card is out of the way too

But until then, i will have to run the pc without a graphics card..

Harddrives i have already, so no problem there.

These are the parts, i am considering right now:

PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750w G2 fully modular

MOBO: MSI Gaming 5 z97

CPU: Intel I5-4690K

RAM: 2x4 gb HyperX Savage Red 2400MHz

What do you guys think about this setup? I will be using the computer for light gaming and video editing

Seems pretty good. PSU is a bit overkill, but it's not crucial.

I changed the RAM to slower memory, since the 4690k can't even use 2400Mhz memory. I also changed the PSU to 650W, since you won't use 750W. You could also change it to 850W, if you want to do SLI/CrossfireX in the future. Everything else is the same, and I just guessed which 760 you'll be getting.

This will be a beast gaming PC other than the 760. I'd recommend getting a new GPU ASAP, since it'll be holding you back in getting those silky smooth 60FPS 1080p.

I used to be quite active here.
