Playable Framerates

This is not a flame thread about consoles or hating on a brand for not being able to push X and Y amount of frames for Z amounts of money, I simply want everyone's opinion on this.

In most games that are not precision and timing intensive what is the playable frame rate for you?
 

precision and timing game examples:
-CS:GO

-Bioshock games
-Most FPSs actually


none precision and timing game examples:
-Minecraft

-Terraria
-Some GTA games
-FTL
-Skyrim to a extent
-AC series to a extent
-RTSs to a extent

I personally have to go ever 40fps or the lag is very noticable.

I need stable 60FPS in any game. The slightest FPS drop and I freak out.

That's why I will upgrade my two GTX 980s as soon as Pascal is out.

Absolute minimum at which I will play a game and enjoy it - 26-28
Perfectly playable for me - 35-40
Enough for it to feel smooth to me - 50
Perfect - 60
Wasted heat and power - above 60

If i paid for my PC with my mums card i would also be caring that i get 60FPS all the time.

I've been playing rise of the tomb raider on Xbox One sure the low frame rate is quite noticeable but I'm still enjoying the game, perhaps it's because I'm using a controller and they're inferior when it comes to aiming, if I were to get it on the pc later down the line I would like the 16ms frame times, as long as you have a consistent 33ms frame time it'll look and feel smooth ish deviate from that it won't, I hate having frame rates in the 30-50 region and it just feels yukky without a free sync or gsync monitor.

After experiencing the smoothness of 60 fps, going below 50 feels a bit laggy, but of course is still playable. I'm used to playing at around 40 fps. The sudden drops is just annoying.

I have OCD so FPS counters give me soem stress if the FPS are dropping atleast 1 bellow my caped framerate.Otherwise im fine with like 30-45.60 is the best tho.

Black Flag is playing at 60fps and dips to around 40 all the time is driving me insane. Just posting to see if I'm just going crazy or too used to high frame rates.

The bare minimum with gsync on is about 40-45, below that its noticeably choppy. My ideal when playing a competitive game is at least 90, ideally 160.

I have to have more then 60 always that is why I play at 1080 with a GTX980ti with DSR.

erm i prefer 60 just across the board i dont really need more, Maybe for CS.GO but i have a 60hz monitor so what ever.

depends on the game.  but generally i can handle 45fps as long as its stable. if its constantly jumping up and down by 10fps either way, it drives me insane.

Try and go with 60 fps but the motherboard is my weakest component and precision games do the lag.

If i upgrade i hope to play games with a higher detail and framerate , fingers crossed!

It really depends on the game, some are fine at 30 and some require at least 60 (competitive games for example), but most important it needs to be stable, I'd rather play smooth 30FPS than an unstable 60FPS.
