SimCity for Mac arrives with issues that prevent installation and gameplay

SimCity for Mac is finally here, and needless to say, many have waited years for this day. Unfortunately, the arrival isn't going terribly smoothly for some, with user complaints ranging from installation issues to the game running only in a windowed mode. Put simply, SimCity for Mac is unplayable for some, and it's an unfortunate situation that's eerily reminiscent of its launch on the PC. A Maxis spokesperson tells us that its live support team is actively working with players that've encountered trouble, and for what it's worth, installation of SimCity for Mac went off without a hitch on our end. In other words, don't lose hope; if you're looking to avoid potential frustration, however, you might want to give the developers a chance to iron out these launch day issues.

Nope, I waited for the reviews, saw it had problems, waited a little, went to its official forum, saw it had a lot of patches and bought when i thought it was safe.

I had problems with a game I bought on release, and swore never to do it again =D.

lol and that's why you wait and not get stuff on the day of release. Would have been a huge headache if you did get it on the first day.

Do the people bashing EA here lack the understanding EA is the publisher and Maxis is the developer and thus is Maxis's fault and not EA's? or are some just doing it with that understanding and just to jab EA for a reason.

It's Maxis that can't code a game properly when it comes to error with Sim Ctiy.

But it was EA's fault for the server downtime on launch.

I don't know how many people have played The Sims 3 but my god that is a horribly optimized game. I get dips down to 30fps when moving the camera fast. There are visual bugs with it still. For only making PC games they aren't very good at it.

EA OWNS Maxis so yes it IS EA's problem.
