My friend got the asrock z75 motherboard for his 2600 and it works fine. Even overclockable to 4.2Ghz, might want to get a hyper 212 evo or something for that. He also has a 7870 but he games on a 900p monitor so it's enough for him.

Yeah, I already know I'm probably not doing 1080p unless I'm recording. More likely 720p so even an R7 250 would be fine

Well I have a EVGA P67 Micro from a LGA 775 board RMA that I've never used, but I don't know if I want to part with it or hang it on my wall...
