Fx-8350

Go to solution Solved by GER_T4IGA,

I7 6700k 465us$

I5 6600k 320us$

DDR4 (HyperX Fury DDR4 2133MHz) 72us$

Z170 (MSI Z170A Krait gaming) 190us$

Just write if you would recommend anything else.

Since you could use the same MOBO and RAM for both the question is more: How does it compare to a Z97 base system (if I recall correctly you are looking for a bang for your buck build)?

6700k = 145%(price perfromance it SHOULD deliver to be worth it)

6600k = 100%

Here you can't really factor in OC since both of them support it and they'd both gain about the same ( or that's what we ahve to assume).

so that is (money a 4790k costs) 480$ = 150% (power it should deliver compared to 1231 v3)

therefore (money a 1231 v3 costs) 320$ = 100%

I tell you right here and now that you probably won't get 50% more performance even with a good overclock. You would also have to factor in the advanced cooler needed (or at least recommended) and the chepaer mobo you chose for the 1231 v3 if you so desire.

^^^^^^For comparison^^^^^^

What were the task again you are going to perform?

Hi im am thinking about to get the Fx-8350 but i saw it was from 2012 and the Motherboards i can buy to the cpu only have PCIe 2.0. Will it effect my Msi R9 390 and if how much. I can only find one motherboard that has PCIe 3.0 but it's more expensive than the cpu.

From Denmark so if you find something on amazon make sure it's on the uk.

Yeah but i also want to do some streaming and editing. Then the fx8350 should be better and the i5  4690k is close to 100$ more expensive.

It is better on the long run. Honestly. YOur GPu will be bottlenecked by the 8350, I have a 390, haven't put in in my rig that has an FX 6300, but I already know and am waiting for the bottleneck

xeon E3 1231 v3 for the price of the i5 4690k. practically an i7 like cpu, without igpu and 100mhz lower clock than the 4790 non -k .

worth every penny, if you dont overclock and you want to stream/edit/game

Or the newer 1230V5 which should in theory be overclockable like the i3s :)

AMD base motherboards only support PCIe 2.0 as far as I know but you won't see any performance hit in game compared to PCIe 3.0.

Some others already pointed out the supperiority of the 4690k or even the 6600k so I will just repeat what they said which is pointless. therefore I won't do that and just tell you that they are correct.

nope, you will need a server grade board in order to use a skylake xeon, since it wont even boot in a consumer grade mobo, even if they are the same socket with the rest skylake cpu .haswell xeon work normally on consumer grade mobos

Uhmm haven't thought of that idea I was thinking to overclock a bit.

How is the reliability on them.

Sorry I meant that your GPU will be bottlenecked by that 8350

You can also just edit the post ;-)

Definitely not worse than an overlcocked 8350 or a 4690k.

the are server grade cpu, designed to last decades without the need to worry about them.

also they are hyperthreaded, like the i7 (1231 and above)

if i were to choose between an overclockable i5 and a hyperthreaded xeon, lets say that the xeon will be more "futureproof" due to its hyperthreading(but there is no futureproof build tbh)

Thanks for answer :) but i found one motherboard that has 3.0 is was a Rog form Asus but it cost more than the cpu :)

But requires a c23x mobo.
