I7 6700k 465us$

I5 6600k 320us$

DDR4 (HyperX Fury DDR4 2133MHz) 72us$

Z170 (MSI Z170A Krait gaming) 190us$

Just write if you would recommend anything else.

Since you could use the same MOBO and RAM for both the question is more: How does it compare to a Z97 base system (if I recall correctly you are looking for a bang for your buck build)?

6700k = 145%(price perfromance it SHOULD deliver to be worth it)

6600k = 100%

Here you can't really factor in OC since both of them support it and they'd both gain about the same ( or that's what we ahve to assume).

so that is (money a 4790k costs) 480$ = 150% (power it should deliver compared to 1231 v3)

therefore (money a 1231 v3 costs) 320$ = 100%

I tell you right here and now that you probably won't get 50% more performance even with a good overclock. You would also have to factor in the advanced cooler needed (or at least recommended) and the chepaer mobo you chose for the 1231 v3 if you so desire.

^^^^^^For comparison^^^^^^

What were the task again you are going to perform?

Thanks for answer :) but i found one motherboard that has 3.0 is was a Rog form Asus but it cost more than the cpu :)

But where is the point then?

But should i just save up a bit and by a i7 4970k?

Also look at what 6700k and 6600k prices do (as well as DDR4 and Z170 mobos)

Was just looking at the xeon it only cost like 50us$ less than the i7 4970k wich one would you guys take?

I have a 3770k running at 4.2

I'd say you won't have a performance gain worth the money.

What are your exact prices so i can do the math for you ??

But requires a c33x mobo.

Just did more digging and yep it looks like you need to use C230 based chipsets. That's a shame I was hoping Intel would keep it as it was, but I suppose they saw that lots of people caught onto the value offered by i7 equivalent Xeons for i5 prices and decided against it this time round.

The xeon 1231v3 cost 320us$

The post where i wrote about the xeon and i7 4970k should been edited :)

Better just do a new post next time. Would be easier to read through for other people searching for help but no problem this time, just a recommendation.

Did you mention you already have something?

Well since you said that I can tell you that for streaming and editing you will have some more fun with the i7s. The question is how much more. I don't know much about editing but that the i7s or the Xeon would be better. In games spending that much more is almost completely useless. As of now I'd say DDR4 is not giving you a lot more than DDR3. In this case DDR4 is tied to the Skylakes and seeing that DDR4 + a Z170 Mobo is far more expensive than the Z97+DDR3 alternative I tend to go for the 6600k (if you really want - heatoutput is also lower) or the Xeon.

I would create a new threat to ask people about this more specificly or just to ask about the editing performance of the i5 vs Xeon. There are a lot of people with valuable knowledge here. This might alter your decision. I advise you to not listen to one person only. Ask more than just me. Single people might forget about somehting important. I am not saying the mob is always right but more is, in this case, usually not a negative.

232$ is ridiculously unnecessary expensive for a mobo if I might say.

I ahve gotten two 4GB sticks of DDR3 SODIMMs for a laptop for 68€. Do you need 80$ RAM (just for the 2133MHz which you won't see making a difference in anything as far as I know. Editing idk. Gaming NO difference to say 1600MHz).

Again what about the 400 bucks for the 4790k? WAT?

Nope the price of an i7 4790k is around the 400$ tech in Denmark can get pretty expensive. After i have read the this i am leaning over to the i7 4790k as the mobo and ddr3 is cheaper and will give me a good gaming performance.

The 8350 will bottleneck the gpu, however the pcie slot pseed has nothing to do with it - no card can saturate a pcie 2.0 8x slot to the point of loosing significant performance at the moment.

As others said, the i5 would be a better choice, and the performance difference in streaming would be negligible, especially once you overclock the i5.

Well i was would go with some 1600mhz ddr3 ram but i thought it would give a bit better comparison and the mobo i will probably also downgrade to a bit cheaper and here is the link to the webside i use DKK as currency (Danske Kroner)

Well, the i7 helps, but it's not strictly necessary by any stretch. Famous streamers often do it as a full time job so they consider the investment worth it even for just 15-20% more performance.

Or they invest in a streaming PC which makes their "gaming" CPU choice less relevant.
